Yesterday was my intro to glass blowing and I thoroughly LOVED it. I feel a new calling in my heart. Between playing the flute and glass blowing, I will put all my hot air to good use 🙂
I recently made this blanket for a friend. And then today I got to have this sweet sleeping baby on my chest for 2 hours. Auntie/Grandma needs fulfilled!! Will crochet for snuggles.
I love colorful, rainbow blankets. Whatever interpretation folks want to put on the color spectrum is fine with me. I choose to call it the Tie Dye Rainbow Hippie Blanket of Love 🙂
With this blanket, I made my FIRST ever official sale today – and I couldn’t be more thrilled. This is a unique blanket since the company (Bernat) no longer makes this yarn.
So my nerd side came out in counting the stitches in this blanket. Normally, I just crochet and don’t think about it but this blanket required a bit of counting. I stitched a total of 34,520 stitches. Woo hoo!!
When I am crocheting blankets for folks, I obsess about the width and the length of the blanket. Is it soft enough? Large enough? What could I improve? Will they like it?
Apparently, the thing you are supposed to do is just plop it on your head and smile. Who knew?
I had an awesome day in Eugene with my friend “Y”. We went to visit her daughter “J” who taught me some new stitches and how to make a flower. Truly, this has opened up a new world to me from the 6 previous years of nothing but single stitch crochet. And I LOVE Eugene. All around wonderfulness with good people, yarn and a touch of sunshine. Woo hoo!
On occasion, I will feature work that is not my own.
My mom makes such cool socks that her whole swim group requested them. Or maybe she just made them without requests – not sure. Here they are posing in what looks like the great sock line up. Which one is “guilty”? 🙂
(Thank you to Dan P. for the picture).
I’m thrilled to donate this baby blanket (can also be used as an adult lap blanket) to the Music Together raffle here in Portland. Music Together is such an awesome program. This blanket is ~37″ X 38″. 100% acrylic. Machine washable and dryable. Handmade with LOVE in a pet free, smoke free environment.
